Graeme started Safety Solutions WA in 2010 after being employed in both private and Government sectors in a safety and regulatory capacity. SSWA was conceived as we identified the need for a Western Australian OSH / WHS Consultancy that approached safety management in a realistic and practical approach was warranted.

Since then, SSWA has grown to provide general consulting, safety documentation development, auditing / inspections, incident investigations and the promotion of safe working cultures, with wide ranging experience in multiple industries including construction, trades, oil / gas, manufacturing, SMP, mining, education / public facilities, waste water and primary industries.

A Safety Professional with well-developed risk management, assessment, investigation, and communication skills.  The Safety Solutions WA team led by Graeme has a proven ability to build close and successful relationships with a wide range of organisations to achieve a common goal in making workplaces safer, assisting clients in meeting their legal obligations and reaching certification in higher, formal levels of workplace safety management where warranted.

Bree Bloch

Bree Bloch (Operations Manager / WHS Consultant)
Bree joined Safety Solutions WA in 2012 and has brought with her experience in the electrical industry, construction and associated trades, services and great admin skills.

Bree has assisted a number of clients in building their safety systems to the levels of AS/NZS: 4801 and the Office of Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) certification and has worked with these clients in maintaining this high level of safety management through multiple re-certification audits.

Bree also carries out Audits to AS/NZS: 4801, WorkSafe Plan and Government Department expected levels of compliance and keeps all of us in check!

Clint Abbott

Clint Abbott (WHS Consultant)
Clint provides our large construction, oil / gas and mining with the expected high levels of safety management practices required in these high risk fields.

Experienced in developing extensive safety management plans and procedures where required, along with thorough auditing and incident investigations both in Australian and overseas markets.

Clint has conducted many audits to the expectations of large private entities, as well as Government Departments, such as Building Management & Works, Training & Workforce Development, and Marine Infrastructure.

Chris Mathews

Chris Mathews (WHS Consultant)
Chris is SSWA’s go-to man for our clients working within Federal projects under the jurisdiction of the WHS Act. An ex-Comcare Inspector, Chris provides clients with thorough knowledge of the expectations of organisations working under the self-insured scheme and projects fully or partially funded by the Federal Government.

With a background in investigations and workplace inspections as a regulator for two separate Government Departments, Chris will assist clients in meeting their obligations, as well as providing causal factors for events that occur and directions / guidance in how to prevent recurrence.

Merv Hindmarsh (WHS Consultant)

Merv brings an impressive array of skills to the SSWA Team.  He is one of the rare people that have two unique machinery safety qualifications - a Certified Functional Safety Engineer (CFSE) from TüV Rheinland and a Certified Machinery Safety Expert from (CMSE) TüV Nord.  He regularly presents the CMSE Course to engineers, designers and maintainers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Along with the Safety Solutions WA consultants’ normal scope of work provided to clients, Merv will greatly assist with machine and equipment guarding requirements, procedures, safe operating practices and ideas to improve safety in those applicable workplaces.

He has and exhaustive generalist safety knowledge, and is well versed in Safety Auditing requirements.
